When to consult

When should you consult about frailty?

Frailty advances quietly: less strength, less weight, less activity. Every early sign is a chance to reverse it.

When to consult

  • You have lost weight without meaning to.
  • You tire with efforts that used to be easy.
  • You walk more slowly or struggle to get out of a chair.
  • You need help with activities you used to do alone.

Before your visit

  • Write down your current weight and what it was 6 and 12 months ago, if you know.
  • Note what you eat on a typical day: protein matters here.
  • Bring recent lab work if you have it.

Important points

  • Unintentional weight loss must always be investigated; it is never "normal for your age".
  • Prolonged bed rest weakens: even during illness, guided movement protects.
  • Frailty raises the risk of complications in surgery and hospital stays.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can frailty be reversed?

In early stages, yes. Strength exercise, enough protein, correcting deficiencies and adjusting drugs improve function measurably.

Can someone aged 85 exercise?

Yes, and they are among those who benefit most. Improvement has been demonstrated even past ninety.
