Assessment of forgetfulness, cognitive and behavioral changes, with clear guidance for the family.

  • Office and home visits
  • Bring someone with you
  • Written plan

When to consult

When should you consult about memory?

The key sign is not forgetting, but forgetting that starts to interfere with daily life, or new changes in personality.

When to consult

  • Asks the same thing several times in one conversation.
  • Gets disoriented on familiar routes or in familiar places.
  • Dropped activities they used to master: cooking, bills, driving.
  • Suspicion, apathy or irritability that were not there before.

Before your visit

  • Write down concrete examples of the lapses and when they started.
  • Bring the full medication list: several drugs affect memory.
  • Come with someone who is with the person day to day.

Important points

  • Many memory problems have a treatable cause: thyroid, vitamin B12, depression or medications.
  • An early diagnosis allows better planning and treatment, even in dementia.
  • Avoid constantly confronting or correcting the person; we will talk about how to communicate.

Frequently asked questions

About this service

Question not here? Send me a WhatsApp message and I will answer personally.

Ask on WhatsApp
Does forgetfulness always mean dementia?

No. Stress, depression, poor sleep, hypothyroidism or medications explain many cases. That is why the evaluation starts by ruling out what is reversible.

Is a diagnosis useful if there is no cure?

Yes: it allows treating symptoms, removing harmful drugs, preventing crises and planning care while the person can take part.

How do I support my relative without arguing?

Part of the visit is teaching communication techniques and behavior management; written guidance for home is included.
