When should you see a geriatrician?

You do not have to wait for something serious to happen. If any of these sounds familiar, in you or in a relative, an assessment is worth booking.

  • Forgetfulness that repeats

Repeated questions, misplaced objects, confusion with dates.

  • A fall, or the fear of falling

Unsteady walking, dizziness when standing up, fear of going out.

  • Five or more medications

Prescriptions from several doctors that no one has reviewed together.

  • Losing weight or strength

Less appetite, clothes that no longer fit, fatigue that does not lift.

  • Daily life takes more effort

Bathing, cooking, handling money or going out alone is no longer the same.

  • Changes in mood or sleep

Persistent sadness, apathy, insomnia or sleeping all day.

Questions before booking

If your question is not here, send me a WhatsApp message and I will gladly answer it.

Ask on WhatsApp
How old should someone be to see a geriatrician?

There is no single age. The assessment is especially useful from age 60, or earlier if there are multiple conditions, memory problems, falls or loss of independence.

How long does the visit take?

The first assessment usually takes longer than a conventional visit, because it covers history, function, memory, nutrition, mood and medications.

What should I bring to the first assessment?

ID, recent test results, prescriptions, a list or the boxes of every medication and, if possible, a summary of previous hospital stays or diagnoses.

Can a relative come along?

Yes. Having someone close present provides useful information and makes following the care plan easier.

Are all medications reviewed?

Yes. We look at doses, schedules, duplication, possible interactions and whether each medication is still necessary.

Do you perform memory evaluations?

Yes. Changes in memory and other cognitive functions are evaluated to guide the diagnosis and the next steps.

Are home visits available?

Yes, for people with limited mobility, functional dependence or difficulty traveling.

How can I book?

You can request an appointment on WhatsApp at +52 656 582 1954, call directly or book from the Doctoralia profile.

What does the consultation cost?

Ask for the current fee when booking. You will be told clearly before your appointment is confirmed.
